Organization Change Management Leader Description : At Northern Trust, we believe that strong organization change management (OCM) ensures a seamless transition to, and strong adoption of, new ways of working. We have an exciting opportunity for an OCM Leader in our Information Technology department. The OCM Leader drives organization change management (OCM) strategy and plans for change initiatives that are transformational, highly- complex and cross-functional in nature. The OCM leader is responsible for the assessment of stakeholder change impacts in order to create and lead execution of comprehensive change strategies and plans, including stakeholder engagement/management, resistance management, training, and communications plans. Additionally, the OCM Lead drives enablement of OCM practices through participation and contribution to IT\xe2\x80\x99s OCM Center of Excellence. The ability to organize, lead, and inspire individuals to embrace change and OCM practices is essential. Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with sponsors/business owners of the change; understand goals for the change and translate them into impacts to the organization.
  • Assess stakeholder change impacts and provide leadership in development of strategy and plans for business readiness, change, training, and communications. Plan should include activities that leverage multiple channels, ensure appropriate support from key sponsors, and seamlessly transition individuals through the change lifecycle.
  • Assess audience readiness for the change including identifying (people-related) risks and anticipated points of resistance; evaluate the results and present findings.
  • Lead and support development of all related change activities/deliverables (including, but not limited to stakeholder engagement, resistance management, communications, and training), ensuring clearly articulated messages that prepare and motivate partners for adopting the change, and resources that provide partners the knowledge and ability necessary to successfully adopt the implemented changes.
  • Identify resistance and/or performance gaps, and work to develop and implement responsive actions.
  • Influence, guide and coach other employees through the change management process.
  • Develop and utilize personas to understand the stakeholders journey and drive partner connection. Ensure messaging is aligned with objectives of the initiative, the department, and the enterprise.
  • Lead change agent communities across the organization to engage impacted end users.
  • Build metrics to monitor engagement and readiness for change.
  • Help enhance IT\xe2\x80\x99s change agility through design and implementation of improvements to IT\xe2\x80\x99s OCM best practices/methodology, and enterprise change analytics/reporting.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Business, Business Administration, Organization Change, Organization Development, Communications, or related field (or equivalent years of experience, education and/or training)
  • 9+ years of relevant work experience in business readiness, leading change management, functional training, organizational design, communications or organizational development, project leadership and/or management consulting:
  • Proven team leadership skills, proficient in providing feedback, support, development, and inspiration across a diverse team.
  • Demonstrated success leading change and communications for complex project oriented and collaborative environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent active listening skills.
  • Ability to work successfully with teams to complete high quality deliverables within tight time lines
  • Ability to effectively work with partners up and down the organizational structure to understand and articulate needs, challenges, strategies and solutions
  • Solid understanding of how people go through change and the change process. Experience with and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Ability to interact with leadership and staff at all levels; strong personal presence.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office tools is a necessity. Experience with collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Miro, Yammer) and strongly preferred, and familiarity with multi-media, design, and publishing tools a plus.
  • Agile Proficiency preferred
