Nature Conservancy India Solutions Private Limited (NCIS) is a Private Limited Company incorporated under The Companies Act, 2013 in December 2020. It is a subsidiary of The Nature Conservancy, one of the largest not-for-profit conservation organizations in the world. NCIS' registered office is at 37, Second Floor, Link Road, Lajpat Nagar- III New Delhi-110024, India.


NCIS was incorporated with the objective of providing research, consulting, technical support, and advisory services to various stakeholders in and outside India relating to conservation of nature, environment, biodiversity, and climate change.

Lead Renewable Energy (Lead RE) advances strategic technical and scientific practices to conservation challenges and provides scientific support and leadership as a subject matter expert (SME). He/She will provide science support to key initiatives within our conservation program (focused on freshwater conservation, land related climate solutions, and nature-linked cities infrastructure) and may lead independent science-based assessments or projects.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Manage RE projects in collaboration with partners and the TNC network, reporting to the Director of Programs.
• Interact with senior representatives from government agencies and RE institutions.
• Lead and participate in analytical projects, addressing emerging conservation issues.
• Ensure scientific rigor in work plans and projects.
• Conduct original research and publish findings to contribute to the body of Conservation RE/Science knowledge.
• Develop and implement processes for identifying research priorities.
• Collaborate with TNC staff and partners to conceive and implement RE initiatives.
• Support the development and implementation of conservation measures and monitoring systems.
• Work globally with the RE community to enhance conservation practices.
• Resolve large-scale, complex problems systematically.
• Provide scientific, research, and data inputs to program teams.
• Handle reporting and outreach for the RE Program.
• Manage team performance, development, and objectives.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Minimum Qualifications

• Preferred: PhD, MTech, MSc in Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Proficient in developing, managing, and executing large-scale renewable energy projects.
• Collaboration with international organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders.
• Expertise in renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, hydro, bioenergy).
• Proficiency in energy policy and regulation.
• Competence in data analysis and energy modeling.
• Experience with tools and techniques for assessing RE potential.
• Experience in supporting strategic programs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in English communication, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting statistical or environmental data.
• Experience writing research proposals.
• Supervisory experience.
• Experience in handling complex projects, including financial aspects and coordination with peers and partners.

Desired Qualifications

• Preferred: PhD, MTech, MSc in Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 10-15 years of experience.
• Exposure to development sector and RE projects (concept to commissioning).
• Team management experience with Strong network and connections.
• On-ground implementation expertise in utility-scale solar projects.
• Familiarity with ESIA, ESMP, and EHS procedures.
• Candidates have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Projects, Primavera, Smartsheet).
• Knowledge of RE characteristics (solar, wind, biomass).
• Record of peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals.
• Understanding of global and national RE policies, project cycle management, financing, and market analysis.
• Awareness of social, economic, and ecological impacts of RE projects in India.
• Familiarity with geospatial tools.
• Experience conducting Environmental Impact Analysis.
• Strategic thinking and advanced analytical abilities.
• International experience and team management skills.
