From building partnerships to working across the whole patient journey, its a place unlike any other to grow capabilities and have a big impactEXPLAIN WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVESThe Lead-Public Channel for BBU , is a key Leadership role and will be responsible for driving public Channel top line for BBU portfolio, develop, and drive the strategy for product inclusion into Central Government institutions and onboarding of state accounts and set up a strong mechanism of collection and receivables .He will be responsible for developing and championing a clear reimbursement strategy for the entire BBU portfolio , both for federal and State Accounts ,with a focus on R&I products and new launches . Hell continue to Hell work closely with Market Access, Government Affairs, medical and commercial team to develop access strategy, Economic Modelling , Funding initiatives and policy area along with Key internal stakeholders and also identify and suggest key intervention areas in public channel aimed at delivering a favorable business environment and maximizing patient access to our product. Public Channel Lead will be responsible for also developing reimbursement model and strategy for BBU product Portfolio in the context of the wider health economy and reimbursement system at a national and subnational/payer level across in collaboration with Market Access.Accountabilities/Duties

  • Team Leadership - Oversee and supervise Government Reimbursement Business Key Account team, providing guidance and support to maximize revenue generation for Astra Zeneca India products in government institutions, bothe Federal & State Accounts
  • Market Analysis - Analyze market access trends and health policy changes to stay informed about the evolving landscape. Continuously map Central and State Government requirements to anticipate access barriers and cost containment risks. Develop strategies for brand inclusions in various tenders and expand the government business
  • Tender Management - Establish strong connect with CoEx team for executing government tenders, as well as other supply and pricing contracts. Ensure compliance with all tender requirements and deadlines.
  • Financial Management - Control outstanding customer-wise and reduce overdue payments through strong process orientation. Lead the annual brand plan and budgeting process for the government business. Ensure accurate long-term forecasting and oversee the monthly demand planning process.
  • Compliance - Maintain and develop a compelling culture of compliance within the team. Ensure adherence to all relevant policies, regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Strategy Development - Develop strategies and innovative models to improve access to AZ therapies in India. Collaborate with stakeholders in access, finance, policy, compliance, legal, regulatory, medical, and supply chain functions to validate and create detailed strategy and implementation plans.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Work closely with stakeholders in India, including institutional decision makers, payers, state departments of health services, and national health ministries. Build rapport and maintain good relationships with key external customers and decision makers within the access pathway and payer ecosystem along with Government Affairs and Access Team.
  • Value Proposition and Health Economics - Support in creation of value proposition and health economics models in coordination with Access, Medical team, brand team, and other relevant stakeholders.
HIGHLIGHT THE SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES NEEDEDEssential for the roleQualifications Bachelors Degree or higher, MBA preferred.Languages Strong command of English and Hindi required.Experience And Knowledge12 years of pharmaceutical industry experience within competitive therapeutic field (Specialist Disease Area like Cradiovascular,Immunology/Respiratory etc ) * Minimum 3 years of experience in the Government/ Institutional Business/Market Access at a Mangerial level (Regional Role ) or1 year in National Role * Knowledge of Indian Healthcare system including health policy & pharmaceutical industry dynamics and strong know-how of India Pharma Market.
  • Strong understanding of Public Channel Business, both Federal and state , Thorough understanding of Rate Contract Process and Formulary Listing , Key Stakeholders , Government Funding & Procurement Policies
  • Knowledge and understanding of pricing & reimbursement, regulatory affairs.
  • Adept at financial principles, business models and how to manage budgets, control expenses.
  • Ability to identify and quantify potential impact of government measures.
  • Highly developed communication & negotiation & influencing skills, building strong relationship with both internal partners and external stakeholders.
