Description & Qualifications

Description Responsibilities:

• CR and code review for best practices and standards
• Guide L1 and L2 DBAs in analysis and troubleshooting
• Develop alerting and monitoring solutions (using DMVs, Perfmon, Profiler and other tools)
• Develop database maintenance solutions
• Troubleshoot SSIS, reporting, ETL and data warehouse related issues

- Analyze performance related issues from all aspects - Create build templates

• Create and maintain DB setup and configuration PL/SQL scripts
• Review windows and infrastructure resources for bottlenecks and suggest options for improvement
• Implement and maintain clustering, log shipping, always-on and replication solutions
• Review problematic code and suggest options for improvement
• Continuous review of existing best practices/SOPs and update if there is any scope of improvement

Essential Functions:

• Monitor production systems, resolve issues proactively, escalating to senior engineers, if needed.
• Support production and other environments consisting of SQL 2012-2022 , Windows Server 2014-2022.
• Install, administer, and update Windows and SQL 2012-2022 servers.
• Trouble shoot and resolve performance related issues for SQL 2012-2022 servers.
• Configure and maintain replication, log shipping, AlwaysOn, and MS cluster.

Secondary Functions:

• Continuous learning of system administration topics.
• Function as a liaison between Hosting Operations and other teams within the company, which may include direct or indirect contact with our customers.
• Any and all additional job duties as defined by Hosting management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Installation / configuration/ maintenance and Administration of SQL SERVR 2012-2022.
• Disaster Recovery Planning and Implementation (Mirroring, Replication, log shipping, MS Cluster\xe2\x80\xa6)
• Good knowledge of Transactional SQL, Stored Procedures, SQL Monitoring tools and Performance monitoring.
• Knowledge of Planning and implementing backup policies.
• Practical experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database security.
• Knowledge of hosting/SaaS environments, Network Operations Center protocol, focusing on systems performance and high availability.
• Knowledge of server hardware systems and Operating system.
• Knowledge and experience in qualifying, staging and deploying of specialized software pieces into a complex production hosting center.

- Knowledge of the following technology areas: Installation, Administration and configuration of Windows servers. - Knowledge of Active Directory (user, Groups, computer management and Group Policy). - Disaster Recovery Planning.
Qualifications Graduate in Computer Science, MCA/ Regular PG course in Computers added advantage

• Minimum 5 years related work experience, 3+ years in Microsoft SQL SERVER administration
• Scripting knowledge (WS script, power shell, Dos and Batch scripts)
• Exposure to ORACLE \\ PPAS \\ Cassandra would be a plus
• Backup and recovery tools
• Exposure to ITIL tools
