About the role



Wells Fargo is seeking a skilled & proficient Risk Management professional for the Lead Operational Risk officer role. The person in the role is responsible for conducting data-driven monitoring across various Operational Risk programs such as Risk & Control Environment, Issue Management, Operational Risk Events, Key Risk Indicators etc. The Lead Risk Analytics Consultant will support operational risk monitoring routines across various business lines and corporate functions within Wells Fargo and utilize the monitoring routines for effective operational risk oversight.



In this role, you will: • Provide an aggregate independent enterprise-wide view of risk monitoring activities (execution, delivery, and process management)
• Create and maintain data-driven monitoring routines. Build automated alerting mechanisms to flag breaches based on pre-defined tolerance levels/risk appetite.
• Conduct quantitative/statistical analysis to come up with thresholds to flag breaches for various risk metrics utilized for monitoring purpose.
• Timely escalate concerning trends and conduct root cause analysis utilizing Risk and/or business data.
• Create visual dashboards to easily drill down on various segments/risk types.
• Provide oversight of the related control environments and provide a holistic perspective of the residual risk of the company.
• Leverage technology tools to automate repeatable tasks to drive efficiencies/strengthen controls.
• Build connections with the data and reporting teams across the enterprise, keep up with the data knowledge and influence data/reporting needs.
• Guide and mentor other junior members on the team.

Required Qualifications:



5 + years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, risk, compliance or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both.• Expert knowledge of RCSA, KRIs and other risk management principles
• Subject matter expertise on data management and data governance
• Leadership/transformational experience to drive change across diverse functions - including others outside of the direct line.
• Strategic perspective, with a proven ability to execute and deliver results.
• Demonstrated capabilities to develop effective relationships at senior and executive levels across different stakeholder groups.
• Significant Business analysis and analytics experience
+ Ability to analyze data to and generate insights to tell the story behind the data.
+ Experience sourcing data from multiple sources
+ Preparing and delivering complex data in a way that is concise and understandable.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with an ability to translate ambiguous ideas/issues into well-defined plans/solutions with a track-record for delivering results.
• Effective communicator, both orally and in writing, able to ask well-crafted questions and present ideas in a clear and compelling manner, good listener who engenders creative thinking and teamwork.
• An ability to develop and articulate sound proposals to key stakeholders, and an ability to influence and drive timely decision making.
• Ethical integrity and proven ability to serve as a role model by reinforcing and demonstrating to your employees the core values and behavioral expectations of the organization.
• Attention to detail, organization and the ability to prioritize multiple competing deliverables to meet deadlines.

• Experience in building automated data routines to understand outliers and anomalies

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Exposure to Wells Fargo Risk Framework
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
• Experience with banking key risk indicators (KRIs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and/or risk appetite
• Experience with risk management-related analysis, including thematic reviews.
