VDI Infrastructure Team, responsible for engineering, support, and administration of all Group VDI Infrastructure.
Role Description
The Lead L3 VDI Engineer role is part of the End User Computing Team and is focused on proactively supplying and managing the VDI related corporate infrastructure for the London Stock Exchange Group, including various architecture and service through the interaction of the LSE Corporate Technology function.
Responsibilities will comprise of BAU duties in supporting Global VDI environments and providing escalation support for local colleagues in the VDI Infrastructure Team, reporting into the Global VDI Lead and VDI Products Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
Reporting into the VDI Product Manager and Global VDI Lead, Oversee day-to-day operation and Shift Rota resourcing to ensure that Delegated tasks are completed.
Management of the Global On-Call Rota ensuring that support coverage is in place.
Motivate team members and act as an escalation point for colleagues based in Bengaluru.
Discover training needs and provide coaching.
Ensuring production stability working with the global support teams.
Responsibility for escalated technical issues in the environment for problem resolution; working with other global support teams where necessary.
Diagnose and repair system problems working closely with vendor support for all servers, software and other hardware directly or with the team members.
Maintain EUC technology roadmaps ensuring the estate is up to date and fit for purpose.
Recommend and implement technology solutions in line with architectural roadmaps.
Implementation of new technologies and business requirements.
Define, enhance and optimize system performance of all systems including internal, external networks, hardware, servers and all connected equipment belonging to the company.
Define processes and solutions to maintain and monitor compliance to security and software policies for the business.
Support project support to both Technology & Information Security initiatives
Provision of appropriate project documentation and controls
Ensure all engineering activities are completed effectively and in accordance with Change Lifecycle and adoption of company project methodology.
Responsibilities include change control, maintenance of files, document control, actual data collection and forecasting, updating of plans, administration of quality reviews, and standards reporting.
Ensure completion and appropriate storage of all project documentation.
Ensure completion of weekly Status Update Report
Client Liaison
Liaise where required with I&C colleagues and the Business in order to assist with resolving Incidents and Problems - Disseminating information to external clients as appropriate.

Experience
Essential:
Minimum 7 years\' experience working with Virtual Desktop technologies in a senior capacity leading a team of engineers.
Deliver capabilities such as Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, SCCM, Application packaging, Microsoft O365, Standard Operating Environment (SOE), encryptions methods such as BitLocker and Checkpoint to VDI infrastructure.
Experience writing and running Powershell scripts to reduce manual actions
Experience with Site Reliability Engineering to ensure impact to end users is seen ahead of time and remediated before outages impact productivity, ensuring proactive rather than a reactive response to issues.
Solid experience in managing a VDI Estate via SCCM and Intune (Cloud)
A demonstrated and focused desire to build powerful, simple, well-designed products and services that customers will love to use
Working knowledge of agile development methodologies and Windows 365
Proven Ability to manage Cloud VDI Infrastructure (Azure and AWS)
Demonstrable experience of delivering infrastructure projects, with specific knowledge of service transition and supportability of solution in a Production environment
Working within a matrix management organisation structure and with diverse project delivery team(s)
Good working relationships with 3rd party suppliers and vendors
Understanding of Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT), Disaster Recovery, High Availability (HA) in a Production environment
Understanding of Change Management, Incident Management and Release and Configuration management processes
Beneficial:
Exposure to setting up an Azure Eco-System
Utilising product such as UIPath and Power Automate to deliver SRE solutions to drive maximum uptime and service status awareness
Demonstrable experience of delivering projects within the financial services industry including clearing or investment banking.
