Job Description


:1. Registration of trademarks, patents and copyrights: As and when request for the registration of trademarks comes take search on the trademark registry and confirm whether any such marks are already registered or are conflicting with other marks and timely registration of the same. For registration of trade marks, copyright and patents take assistance of Group Legal Cell and develop expertise gradually to do all the applications for the trademark in-house.2. Protection of Marks: Regularly read and verify Trademark journal and check whether anyone has filed application for the marks which are similar or deceptively similar to our marks and take suitable action to get successful results. Develop expertise in-house for the appearance before the registry personally and reduce reliance on the external lawyers. Send cease and desist notices, file cases against the persons who are infringing our trademarks and arrange to conduct raids against the persons who are selling spurious cement under our trademarks and deceptively similar trademarks. Prepare monthly reports for the management.3. To assist in handling litigations and arbitrations and ensure compliance of notices : Participate in meetings with respective unit to understand the facts and dispute and accordingly brief the lawyers/Solicitors the case with facts, applicable provisions of law to evaluate legal options in the interest of the Company. Finalisation of plaints, replies, documents for cases and arbitration and attending courts in important cases, if required and arbitration proceedings. Train units and departments in handling of notices and accordingly updating the Roznama. Periodically verify the reports relating to receipt of the notices and disposal of the same.4. To effectively use legal case management platform, Roznama and create awareness in the unit. Effectively use the reports for the effective and timely action : To train and provide necessary guidance and support to the unit team member for the use of Roznama and ensure that the team members of the assigned units are keeping the entry up-to-date. Attend to the suggestions and complaints received from the user and get them resolved and check the reports in the system to take necessary updates.5. Document Preparation and Management: Review existing agreements / contracts being used at the unit / business and modify the same as per the changes in law and the requirement of the business. Prepare new standard commercial and legal agreements as per the requirement of the business.6. To keep up with the updates in the legal field : To update self regarding the change in rules and regulations and also with respect to pronouncement of new judgments and applying the same while advising business. Analyse the judgment which may have impact on the business and prepare a note.7. Provide timely legal advise : Units needs advices on many legal matters. 2. Annalise applicable provisions of law, research applicable judicial pronouncements. 3. Take external opinion, if required, with the help of seniors 4.
