Overview:

Develop materials and process for major components or major portions of Aircraft systems. Develops or improves/ qualify materials and products and facilitates manufacturing operations. Collaborates with cross functional team including the Business unit in USA. Meets program schedules and budgets.

Position: Lead Engineer (P2) \xe2\x80\x93 Materials and Process \xe2\x80\x93 Non-Metallics

Must have Skillsets: Engineering Change management process, Good Mechanical Technical knowledge and communication skills, Obsolescence knowledge, Stakeholder Communication, Documentation, Statical analysis.

Good to have: Project management, Teamcenter.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Expertise in thermoplastic composite materials and advanced manufacturing processes for aerospace applications.
• Expertise in material and processes selection of thermoplastic composite materials as per design requirements.
• Should be capable to lead projects pertaining to thermoplastic composite materials and processes development, fabrication, and testing for method development, allowables generation and validation.
• Knowledge and hands-on in the NDT, extraction, joining and assembling technique pertaining to thermoplastic composite materials.
• Hands-on experience in thermoplastic composite part failure analysis and material characterization techniques \xe2\x80\x93 thermal, chemical, and microscopic.
• Hands-on experience in writing material specification, process specification, qualification test plan and report, and failure analysis report.
• Familiarity with international and industry materials, processes and testing specifications and standards, such as AMS, MIL, ASTM applicable to thermoplastic composite.
• Coordinate and support in selection, development, qualification of speciality suppliers for thermoplastic material processing.
• Investigating materials and processes related to production and identifying root causes and countermeasures.
• Experience with analytical tools used in six-sigma and quality improvement programs.

• Familiarity with special processes and NADCAP certification requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years of industrial experience in the area of thermoplastic composite materials, processes, research and development, and product development in the aerospace industry.
• Qualification Requirements: B.E./ M.E./ M.Tech or equivalent in Polymer Engineering, Thermoplastic Composite or Materials Science & Engineering from a reputed engineering college/university.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge on polymeric materials, and manufacturing processes, statical knowledge, Analytical expertise in problem solving.
