JOB DESCRIPTION Summary Responsible for Leading Hardware Design and Development of Flow Measurement Devices. Essential Job Responsibilities Lead/assist new product development activities such as: Electronic product design with respective circuit design for function, reliability and regulatory needs, peer reviews, product qualification planning and testing identify and use proven technologies, leverage existing product designs, create original circuit designs, and prepare required test plan/reports, technical documentation like design document, product validation reports etc. Deliverables/tasks for which the candidate would be responsible- Hardware design documents, Schematics, PCB files review, Prototyping, vendor management, execution of various tests like environmental, reliability, EMI/EMC and respective report preparation, production support, customer support, product certification Efficiently able to apply working technology knowledge and industry/company standards to achieve robust product designs in a global team environment. Able to identify effective module integration to prepare final product and system working Prepare detailed plans necessary to complete assigned projects and validate same. Able to understand complete product specifications and review product test plan, Timelines, testing methodology, test environment, risk & mitigation plans and retrospective points. Provide product technical support through reviewing and approving engineering change notifications, managing, and executing cost savings opportunities, or assisting with the investigation of field applications to ensure product functionality, quality and conformance to various industry standards. Participate in business unit calls for project reviews and regular updates. Training and development of direct reports. Willingness to work flexible hours that works best with the local and remote engineering center(s). Technical Skills: - Must Have Skills / Competencies Have min. 7 to 10+ years of hands-on experience in hardware design, development & validations Experience with electronics hardware including digital (Regular & highspeed IOs like FIFO, Counters) and small signal analog circuit design (mA, mV, Volt, RTD IOs) and analysis, microprocessor-based board level design including different peripherals like A/D converters, serial, parallel memory interfacing, should be aware of industrial protocol interface and physical layer signaling for RS485/ Modbus/ Ethernet/ UART/SPI/ I2C and basics of power supplies design (Buck/Boost/isolated power converters). Should be able to draw schematic, and guide PCB team for accurate PCB design and layout. Should be able to prepare BOM, component procurement and able to execute proto development which include prototype verification (Functional, thermal and environmental validations) Should be able to execute complete EMC validations (trouble shooting and design fixes) Experience with industrial product certifications Experienced in product reliability analysis like MTBF, MTTF etc. A track record of successful product enhancement/s and release Good to have Skills / Competencies Experience with Industrial digital communication interfaces like HART, Fieldbus, Profibus. Experience with international safety and hazardous location design, including intrinsic safety. FPGA based design and development Self-motivated to lead technical projects/tasks and assumes higher level of responsibility Provide technical support to team members Possess strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills Possess excellent oral and written communication skills Possess ability to contribute to a global team environment Education: B.E/ME in Electronics/Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
