Operator and Electronic Systems ASIA Department is a division of Global OES at Volvo Construction Equipment. We design the Software solutions of the current and future machines with the purpose of making them more efficient and environmentally friendly.


Lead Embedded Application Development Engineer Role Description!



Your job is delivering amazing SW solutions that delight customers. As Lead Embedded Application Development Engineer, you will be leading as well as contributing to embedded software development for Global/Local products in Electrical and Electronics platform for different Volvo CE sites. You will manage complete software development starting from requirement reviews, SW design, SW implementation and SW integration part of the embedded software project responsibility. Lead Embedded Application Development Engineer plans, executes, leads, support and follow-up activities and deliveries within the QDCF targets inside the SW area.


You would make significant contribution to SW Product, owned globally by OES ASIA, by joining a team of highly skilled and well-organized software development and verification team located in Bangalore India and at times also located in other Technology sites within Volvo CE Sweden, Germany, France, US, Korea, China etc.



The position holder will report to Head of OES ASIA SW DEV 1





RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leading and coordinating all activities within a software development team.
• Managing the software development scope for a complex embedded software project.
• Distributing and following-up of work assigned to the team, within the team.


o Making sure that all work assigned to the team have been finalized correctly.

o Making sure that the team will conclude assigned work within time and quality.

• Support in software development, adherence, and improvement of processes within the given area.
• Ownership for continuous improvement work with the team (e.g., share knowledge, manage technical discussions and sessions, training, lessons learned)
• Support CPM/PO/PM and line manager in bottom-up estimations and in Resource planning of coming work.
• Providing feedbacks to line manager on performance of the engineers.
• Providing Technical feedback to Team members working within the Development Project
• Establish and maintain build scripts for target platforms including CANoe/CANalyzer (where applicable). Identify and configure tasks, communication, executable, memories, I/O etc. during integration to fulfill all requirements of an ECU. Configure the ECU platform according to the non-functional requirements (e.g., signal database etc.).
• Measure and communicate usage of critical ECU hardware resources such as Flash, RAM, and CPU usage.
Key Skills
--------------

• Deep knowledge in C/C++ programming, embedded software development, and real time behavior.
• Deep Knowledge in Diagnostics and Communication Protocols (UDS, KWP and Latest Industry trends in this area.)
• Deep knowledge in ECU configuration & integration tools, Scripting language (Python etc.).
• Good Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, JIRA, Artifactory.
• Good Knowledge on SDLC, Agile Methodologies, SCRUM etc.
• Good knowledge on application SW integration (IO, Parameters, CAN J1939)
• Good knowledge about RTOS (e.g., OSEK, Embedded Linux, QNX, etc.)
• Ability to actively Develop team members technically.
• Good knowledge of AI and Machine Learning.



REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:


1. Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:

• Bachelor/master's degree in computer science/Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
• Excellent spoken and written English.

2. Additional Important Requirements:

• Experience working with global teams desirable.
• Good knowledge of the applications of software platforms in Volvo CE products.

Flexibility to travel overseas as needed.
