Job Description


:Job PurposeTo achieve the organizational key mission and vision of zero accidents by ensuring safe Data Center Operations and safe Working environment at Data Center, Implementation of EHS standards, policies, and procedures as per EHSMS, Statutory compliances, training on EHS.Roles & responsibilities

  • Ensure hundred percent compliance with EHS standards to avoid any unsafe incidents or penalties.
  • Coordinate with contractors team to review any complaints and corrective & preventive action taken.
  • Ensure and review safety meetings, trainings, and drills.
  • Carry out EHS inspection / audit of work area, work method, men, habitat, machine & materials, and other tools.
  • Ensure & Promote Implementation policies, provide guidance & Interpretation of EHS rules, regulations & policies.
  • Preparing and updating operational EHS plan and Legal register.
  • Advise, Support & promote safety management & Improve awareness measures & ensure EHS Standards.
  • Proactively eliminate any EHS related incidents by preparing and conducting risks analysis.
  • Preparation and execution of calendar as per needs & co-ordinates EHS training to staff and workers and train new recruits in HSE program during induction.
  • Ensure daily, monthly reports are made and shared with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure 100% EHS KPIs & EHS Performance of employees at Data Center level.
  • Preparation and review of Safety Plan for the Data Center and Safety Procedures.
  • Identification of Hazard & Risk (HIRA) in the Data center & take mitigate action to minimize residual risk.
  • Identifying and implementation of controls for EHS Risks.
  • Managing Vendors and Contractors safety by coordinating with them for their safety plans and the approval of such plans.
  • Monitoring the safety performance of in-house and external personnel.
  • Recording, Investigating and Enabling Actions on Safety Incidents.
  • Monitoring of all Safety Equipment on Site and its Condition Review.
  • Support during actual accidents and coordination with healthcare facilities.
  • Conduct of Mock Drills and its records and support during actual emergencies including coordination with interested parties.
  • Enabling Hazardous Work Control at site (Work Permits) and other controls as necessary.
  • Liaisons & Co-ordinate with Statutory Authorities like Factory Inspector, Electrical Safety Inspector, MPCB Officers, Fire Officers, Doctors, & Hospitals.
  • Preparation & Implementation of Procedure, SOP, OCP & other documents as per ISO 14001, ISO 45001
  • Monitoring and inspection of Fire Detection, Fire Suppression, Fire Protection and Fire Hydrant System.
  • Conducting safety promotional activities such as Celebrate Road Safety Week, National Safety Week, World Water Day & Environment Day Arranging training, competition, awards on this event.
  • Preparation & Implementation of Procedure, SOP, OCP & other documents as per ISO 27001, ISO 27701.
  • Taking care of Physical security part area such day to day operation, daily round for the facility.
  • Co-ordination with security agencies for manpower and commercial related issues.
  • The role of a Physical Security Lead in a data center is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of the facility, its data, and personnel. Here are some key responsibilities:
  • Implementing and maintaining physical barriers such as fences, gates, and bollards to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Overseeing the monitoring of CCTV systems, including advanced cameras and AI-driven analytics for real-time threat detection.
  • Developing and executing protocols for responding to security breaches, natural disasters, and other emergencies.
  • Ensuring that all physical security measures comply with relevant laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting regular training sessions for staff on security protocols and emergency procedures. Conducting daily briefing, approval visitor gate pass as & when required.
  • Working closely with IT security teams, facility management, and external security agencies to coordinate comprehensive security strategies
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (degree, training, or certification required)
  • Advanced diploma in industrial safety is mandatory.
  • Full time B.E. / B. Tech. Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with Diploma in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH IGC from approved institutes.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: (no. of years of technical, functional, and/or leadership experience or specific exposure required)
  • 5 to 8 Years of EHS related experience in managing EHS function, administering safety, health & environmental programs with at least 3 to 4 years in Data Centers / IT organization
  • Hands on experience of managing and reviewing EHS risk and controls for construction high risk activities such Excavation, heavy lifting, Trenching, Hot Works, Working at Heights, Confined Space etc
  • Fair knowledge of ISO14001, SO45001 and OHSA.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of compliance with BOWC and other statutory requirements;
  • Self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills to drive EHS initiative at the construction project with innovation safety mind.
  • Skilled in managing stakeholder groups and balancing diplomacy and tact with assertiveness
  • Proficiency in MS office and related applications
  • Competent in interpersonal relationships, communication, and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
