We're growing a team of highly skilled, collaborative and passionate Cloud DevOps automation engineers who are responsible for the construction and deployment of the data-driven applications that London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) customers demand.
The Cloud DevOps Automation team is responsible for contributing to and reusing a set of standards-based Cloud patterns within a shared DevOps culture that will enable the Developers they partner with to accelerate the time-to-market of critical software applications to the Public Cloud.
As a Lead DevOps Automation Engineer, you will be leading the definition, application and refinement of these Cloud patterns, you will define and own the requirements backlog within your DevOps team and in the wider cloud team, and you will provide direction in determining when each requirement has been fully met.
This is an opportunity to collaborate locally and across the globe with highly motivated and knowledgeable Application Automation Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers and Developers in our effort to continually improve the operability, scalability, security and cost of every Public Cloud application we deploy and manage.
You'll be expected to both contribute quickly and to learn as you go as we work to establish an even higher standard by which all future Public Cloud apps within LSEG will be measured. In terms of mindset, we need people who can quickly establish a level of trust and rapport with Software Developers, can understand their needs and motivations, and can help translate their software designs into cloud-native, production-ready software.

Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
• Understands the tech strategy and culture, and how they impact own work as well as adjacent teams.
• Leads a team of Site Reliability Engineers on projects to ensure improvement of the availability, scalability, latency and efficiency of LSEG's services.
• Leads by example, mentors the team and establishes credibility through quality technical execution.
• Manages end-to-end availability and performance of key services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
• Implements new / improved site reliability processes and best practices, as required by Group or departmental Heads.
• Ensures the site reliability community has the technical skills required to deliver against long-term plans.
• Supports and develops team members by providing advice, coaching and development opportunities.
• Coordinates the team and holds accountability for the work product.
• Manages design work and planning for elements within projects to the execution of it
• Manages to budget targets.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Moderate experience in software development in one or more programming languages
• Previous experience managing an engineering team on projects with technical deep-dives into code, networking, operating systems and/or storage.
