We are seeking a talented, dedicated, and highly motivated Lead Counsel to work on Meta\'s Security Legal team, with a particular emphasis on India. The role requires the ability to work both independently as well as effectively with large multi-stakeholder cross-functional teams. This is a full-time position based in India.Lead Counsel, Security, APAC ResponsibilitiesProvide advice and support the processing of legal requests for user data, and manage the litigation of matters implicating user data disclosure in criminal mattersProvide subject matter advice related to protecting our employees and assets (physical safety and legal security)Develop strategic approaches to managing regulatory, criminal and policy legal risks and resolving disputesIdentify and advise business and product partners on legal obligations globally relating to data collection, preservation, and disclosure, and platform safety and integrity, including child safety and other serious crimesSupport and advise cross-functional teams in implementing, testing, and evaluating safety and integrity compliance controlsWork closely and creatively with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Policy, Communications, Engineering, and Business Operations in reviewing and addressing governmental regulations, agency guidelines, policies, including government requests for user dataWillingness to work off-hours and overtime, including weekends and occasionally on holidays, in order to support emergency matters and interact with globally-based company employeesMinimum QualificationsResident in IndiaLaw degree5+ years of legal experience, including government, in-house and/or law firm experience advising technology or telecommunications companies on Indian law (or on issues of similar complexity or relevance)Experience strategically managing and handling contentious Indian regulatory issues and/or criminal mattersExperience working with cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders in a fast-paced environmentTeam player who builds effective relationships and works well with othersAbility to think strategically to solve legal challenges with attention to detailAbility to communicate and present effectively to diverse audiencesPositive attitude and flexible mindsetPreferred QualificationsExperience providing counsel on India\'s 2021 Information Technology (IT) RulesExperience regionally on issues pertaining to data collection, protection, and disclosure and analogous international lawsExperience providing guidance to providers in responding to law enforcement requests or criminal mattersExperience with criminal litigationExperience with Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty requests, Letters Rogatory, or other forms of international cooperationRegional experience engaging with regulators and legislators on regulatory, safety and security matters preferredExperience assessing, analyzing, and resolving multiple risk management-related issues and challenges while meeting tight deadlinesExperience with applicable regulatory compliance requirements and spotting emerging trends and \xe2\x80\x9chot issues\xe2\x80\x9dExperience and knowledge of telecommunication regulatory frameworks desirable but not essentialExperience with U.S. law, including the Stored Communications Act, Wiretap Act, Pen Register/Trap and Trace StatuteLocationsAbout MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
