The responsibilities include ombudsperson case management process including facilitating investigations and performing compliance monitoring/ audits globally. This includes confidential investigations across diverse scope which includes violation of law, fraud, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics (COBE), or Company policies and procedures across all business areas.This role closely collaborates with other functions, such as HR, Internal Audit, and Quality in conducting investigations, updating key stakeholders on the progress of investigations, and tracking implementation of corrective and preventive actions.The incumbent should be a Compliance expert on the application of external regulations and compliant business practices, in order to guide the Company's objective and efficient handling of investigations and compliance monitoring globally.Roles & ResponsibilitiesOmbuds and Investigations -

  • Facilitate a culture of open communication where employees feel encouraged to raise concerns. Ensure thorough investigation of reported issues from start to finish, including meticulous documentation to support the investigation process.
  • Enhancing the Ombuds process perform root cause identification & mitigation-based approach.
  • Evaluate reported cases and determine the criticality, assign right investigators in consultation with chief compliance officer and global general counsel in accordance with the Ombudsperson Policy & Procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with Regional Compliance Officers to promote a Speak Up Culture and raise awareness about the Ombuds process.
  • Manage investigation of reported concerns through investigators, across India and other countries in accordance with the Company's ombudsperson process.
  • Ensure quality of investigations process and comprehensiveness of reports along with timely closure of reported cases.
  • Ensure that all the case closures are supported by adequate documentation and the necessary supporting documentation is preserved for future.
  • Ensure oversight of all recommended Corrective Preventive Action are implemented by the stakeholders.
  • Provide required documentation and support for internal and external audits. Ensure that external auditors are briefed on timely basis in relation to reported concerns along with their closure status.
Compliance Monitoring & Risk Assessment
  • Responsible for developing an annual Monitoring Plan with defined timelines of completion.
  • Perform regular monitoring & review as per the plan and provide the outcomes of review to the senior management on periodic basis. Ensure oversight of all recommended Corrective Preventive Action are implemented by the stakeholders.
  • Report monitoring activities and outcome to the Chief Compliance Officer, Global General Counsel, and senior leaders, as per the internal agreed processes.
Qualifications
  • Chartered Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner with 15 - 20 years of experience in various nature of investigations with adequate understanding on applicable legal framework.
  • Experience in Pharma Industry is preferred.
  • Open to Travel 25% of time.

  • Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills and the capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex issues.
