Department Overview : Commercial Banking Control Management partners with business groups to develop and maintain a strong control environment leading to the early identification and sustainable mitigation of operational risk throughout Commercial Banking. The five key functions of control responsibility are risk identification and assessment, control and issue management, control design and evaluation, control reporting and governance, and control programs. Commercial Banking Control Management is organized in three areas: Business Control Management, Control Program Management and Control evaluation About the Role The Controls team will support RCSA & other programs in designing and execution of the policies. Leads implementation of initiatives with moderate to high risk. The role also consults and supports interpretation of policy, guidelines, and governance programs as the front-line liaison to Independent Risk Management leaders. The individual will be responsible for leading and delivering on the RCSA program (End-End Execution of RAU\'s) requirements from I&P. For this role, we are looking for a candidate with good understanding of risk management, operational risk and control evaluation methodologies with an ability to assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls for medium to high complex processes. A successful candidate for this role will have the ability to operate independently, multi-task on operational and strategic activities, and to communicate effectively with executives both verbally and written. Coordinate completion of multiple tasks and meet aggressive time frames in a geographically diverse and matrixed environment. Deliver effective and consistent execution of the Risk Management Framework to build Front Line Risk Mitigation capabilities and accountability coordinating issue analysis, thematic reviews, control evaluation and remediation activities across businesses and functions to manage risk Complete root cause analysis, identify risk, and develop remediation plans Create executive level reporting with aggregated and disaggregated views to provide awareness, request action, and initiate escalation across efforts to CB leaders and risk committees. Perform analysis and provide potential applicable controls and MCR during the workshop Strong collaboration and consulting experience across internal and external key stakeholders. Prepare cheat sheet for RAU owner, arrange break out sessions to discuss key topics required for readiness of the RCSA workshop. Review Final artifacts for risk and control assessments prior RCSA affirmation Record risk and control assessments in system of record during the workshop discussions in presence of IRM, BACO, Process Owner. etc. Co-ordinate or schedule calls with stakeholders including Pwc to make key decisions during the RCSA workshop when there is an issue or challenge encountered. Experience in evaluating the adequacy, effectiveness, creation and updating of program methodologies, policies, procedures, processes, and controls. Showcase strong knowledge of Risk management framework, including risk identification, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance Effectively collaborating with business partners in the first-line-of-defense (Business Owner), second line of defense (ORBO/IRM, BACO.etc) Schedule calls for High Inherent Risk with the IRR team to determine and track justification Schedule meeting with Business Executive for Service Model walk through, track action items and remediate Ensure the R&CB observations are reviewed and remediated Required Qualifications: 8+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. Ability to identify risk and controls and conduct root cause analysis to create remediation plans, remediation success criteria, sustainability criteria and control documentation. Working knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) concepts across risk types (regulatory, financial crimes, credit, operational, etc.) and risk quantification (financial impact to organization, risk exposure levels, etc.). Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) ability to concisely articulate complex concepts in a clear manner. Ability to translate technical language into plain business language, and to translate business requirements into technology initiatives. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to interact with all levels of an organization. Strong interpersonal, influencing and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and achieve goals in a dynamic and complex environment. Ability to work independently.
