We are seeking a Lead Consultant for our Data Governance & Policy team within the GBS Data Office (GDO), supporting Commercial and Enabling Units business areas. This role is pivotal in safeguarding our company\'s data assets, ensuring they can be used confidently to maximize value while maintaining legal, ethical, and security standards. You will be responsible for a range of data and AI governance activities, providing support to junior team members, and coordinating data usage, processes, and initiatives for relevant business areas. This is an opportunity to develop your business acumen with exposure to the latest updates across the business from the most recent studies to product innovationsAccountabilitiesAs a Lead Consultant, you will develop robust, standardized processes for efficient data governance activities. You will provide first-line expertise on privacy to internal stakeholders, manage requests for data sharing with third parties, and lead the identification, classification & prioritization of Critical Data Assets and Critical Data Elements. You will also facilitate the roll out of Enterprise data and AI policies and standards within defined business areas, oversee regular maturity assessments against AZ Enterprise data standards, and assure data and AI issue and risk registers. Additionally, you will educate and publicize data governance concepts, policies, and standards through presentations, GDO intranet site, and AZ internal social media. Lastly, you will drive the design and implementation of data standards framework and metrics.Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Proven experience of working in a data office, data governance or data management role
  • Domain knowledge of life sciences/pharmaceuticals; manufacturing; corporate finance; or sales & marketing
  • Knowledge of data protection principles and regulation (e.g. GDPR)
  • Strong knowledge of data management and data governance principles
  • Good organisational change skills
  • Good administrative and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience of maintaining information and documentation using collaboration tools (e.g. SharePoint)
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Conceptual and strategic problem solver
  • Confident engaging and handling collaborators at all levels
  • Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills
Desirable
  • Knowledge of user access and security principles
  • Experience of working in a sophisticated, diverse global organisation
  • Knowledge of ethical and regulatory aspects of the use of data within AI and analytics
  • Experience with Collibra or other data catalogue technology
  • Experience of process design
  • Experience of producing and delivering training
