This position sits in the Scanning & Tagging squad of the Data Services Tribe within the Technology & Data Group. The mission of Data Services is to Make it easy to leverage REA data.As Lead BA, you will be responsible for defining and documenting detailed requirements with product management, ensuring they are well understood by delivery teams, and providing regular analysis and support of our growing system and data footprint.This role will require excellent communication and collaborative involvement through all stages of product development from concept and requirements through inception, specification, development, testing, release and retirement.While no two days are likely to be the same, your typical responsibilities will include:

  • Extensive requirements gathering from product managers, analysts, tech leads and other business stakeholders to ensure business needs and use cases are met.
  • Collaborate with the development team to test features and implement shift-left testing practices, ensuring early and frequent testing throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex business needs and translate them into requirements and data specifications for technical solutions
  • Ensuring these requirements are well understood by delivery teams through story kick offs and constant communication.
  • Analysing business processes, workflows and user journeys using techniques such as process maps, value stream maps and story boards.
  • Identifying and communicating any requirement dependencies, issues or risks identified through the analysis process.
  • Work closely with Delivery Lead and Engineering manager running agile scrum ceremonies and producing agile artefacts.
Who we are looking for:
  • In depth understanding of data management capabilities and data & platform architecture
  • Familiarity with data catalogue tools and practices, particularly in the context of data governance and privacy.
  • A passion for platform and data and how it can be used to solve real problems, as well as attention to detail
  • A love of documentation to go with excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with programming, SQL skills and system design
  • Ability to collaborate and build productive relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and facilitate workshops
  • Ability to manage the competing demands of multiple projects in a timely manner
  • Ability to work productively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with Data Governance, Privacy and Security concepts and policies well regarded
  • Experience in JIRA and work with the team to define Epics, Features, User Stories, and tasks per business initiative at pace
  • Experience documenting processes, frameworks and translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience working with platform and data in analytics and engineering environments
  • Proven track record in developing detailed data specifications, requirements gathering and business analysis
  • Proven track record in relevant projects, preferably in both waterfall and agile environments
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications highly desirable
  • Prior experience with data catalogue, metadata tagging, data scanning and treatment, data lakes and/or data warehouses is highly desired
