Job Title:Assistant Manager - Hydraulics / PowertrainLead Engineer / Assistant Manager - FabricationNote: The job title may vary, depending upon the years of experience and internal parity. / MissionThe Assistant Manager/Lead Engineer - Sourcing will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for proprietary components in the Hydraulics, Driveline, and Fabrication categories. The role requires strong technical sourcing expertise, project management, and strategic negotiation skills. This position will collaborate closely with suppliers, R&D, production, and cross-functional teams to ensure cost efficiency, supplier performance, quality enhancement, and supply chain optimization, supporting the company\'s new product development (NPD) initiatives.Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing:

• Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for Hydraulics, Driveline, and Fabrication components, focusing on innovation, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
• Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, and make-or-buy analysis to identify optimal supply chain solutions.
• Drive localization efforts and explore alternative sourcing avenues to reduce dependency on single suppliers.
• Drive long-term sourcing strategies that align with the organization\'s business objectives, including risk mitigation and sustainability initiatives.

• Supplier Management & Negotiations:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key global and regional suppliers in the Hydraulics, Driveline, and Fabrication sectors.
• Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, delivery terms, and contracts to meet cost and performance targets.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions.

• Cost Management & Optimization:

• Lead cost-saving initiatives through supplier negotiations, value engineering, and alternative sourcing.
• Collaborate with finance teams to develop cost models and achieve the annual cost reduction plan.
• Focus on long-term agreements with strategic suppliers to ensure cost-effective supply chains.

• New Product Development (NPD) & Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with R&D, engineering, and production teams to ensure early supplier involvement in the product design and development stages.
• Ensure supplier readiness for NPD projects to support successful product launches.

• Risk Management

• Proactively manage supplier-related risks, including financial, operational, and geopolitical risks.
• Implement contingency plans and supplier diversification to mitigate supply chain risks.

• Experience requirements

• Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain management, with with significant experience in proprietary components (preferably hydraulics or driveline systems).
• Experience working with global suppliers in the metal fabrication industry.
• Experience in strategic sourcing for complex, high-value components, preferably in the mobile industry, heavy machinery, or industrial sectors.

Knowledge

• Strong understanding of Hydraulics, Driveline systems, and Fabrication processes (welding, machining, cutting, etc.).
• Proficiency in strategic sourcing, cost modeling, and contract management.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with multiple projects.

Educational requirements

• Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.

Personality requirements

• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
