Job Title: ISC Law Teacher

Location: Hopetown Girls' School, Dehradun

Position Type: Full-Time

Job Overview:

Hopetown Girls' School is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Law Teacher to teach the ISC (Indian School Certificate) curriculum. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in legal studies and the ability to inspire and guide students through complex legal concepts. The teacher will be responsible for developing critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the Indian legal system among students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development and Delivery:
• Teach ISC Law classes (Grades 11 and 12), delivering comprehensive lessons on topics such as constitutional law, criminal law, contract law, and the legal profession in India.
• Develop lesson plans, assignments, and assessments in alignment with the ISC Law syllabus.
• Use case studies, real-world examples, and interactive discussions to deepen students' understanding of legal principles.
• Student Engagement and Support:
• Encourage active class participation, debate, and critical thinking in relation to legal issues.
• Provide individualized academic support through tutorials, extra help sessions, and after-class assistance.
• Prepare students for the ISC examinations, helping them grasp key legal concepts and perform well in assessments.
• Classroom Management:
• Create a disciplined yet open learning environment, where students feel encouraged to explore legal concepts and discuss relevant issues.
• Professional Development:
• Stay updated with current developments in the legal field and ISC syllabus changes.
• Participate in school-wide meetings, training sessions, and professional development workshops.
• Extracurricular Activities:
• Support and engage with students in legal-related extracurricular activities such as debates, Model United Nations (MUN), or legal awareness programs.
• Mentor students interested in pursuing law as a career, providing guidance and resources on further education and opportunities in the field.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Educational Requirements:
• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized institution. A teaching qualification or B.Ed. is preferred.
• Experience:
• Minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience, preferably at the high school level and within the ISC curriculum.
• A strong understanding of the Indian legal system and ISC Law syllabus.
• Key Skills:
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to engage students and promote critical thinking and debate.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficient in using digital resources and technology to enhance learning.
