Job Description

A laundry attendant is responsible for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and storing soiled linens and clothing according to fabric type and color, ensuring proper cleaning and maintenance of laundry equipment, while adhering to established sanitation procedures in a facility like a hotel, hospital, or commercial laundry service; their duties may include identifying stains, applying appropriate treatments, and reporting any damaged items to management. Key responsibilities of a laundry attendant:

• Sorting laundry: Separate soiled items by color, fabric type, and stain level.
• Operating laundry equipment: Properly use washing machines, dryers, ironers, and folding machines.
• Stain treatment: Apply appropriate stain removal methods based on fabric type and stain.
• Washing and drying: Load laundry into machines according to washing instructions, monitor cycles, and unload items.
• Folding and storing: Accurately fold clean linens and clothing, and store them in designated areas.
• Inventory management: Maintain accurate records of linen usage and report any discrepancies.
• Cleaning and maintenance: Keep the laundry room clean and organized, including wiping down equipment and disposing of debris.
• Quality control: Inspect cleaned items for stains, tears, or damage and report any issues.
• Customer service: Respond to guest requests and concerns regarding laundry services.

Required skills:

• Attention to detail: Ability to accurately sort and handle delicate fabrics.
• Physical stamina: Ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
• Basic mechanical skills: Understanding of how to operate commercial laundry equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals: Ability to safely use cleaning products based on fabric types.
• Organizational skills: Efficiently manage laundry flow and prioritize tasks.

Pay: ?10,000.00 - ?12,000.00 per month
