Job Summary:
The Lady Hostel Warden is for overseeing the smooth functioning of the hostel, ensuring the safety, discipline, and well-being of the residents. The warden is expected to maintain a nurturing and secure environment while upholding hostel rules and resolving any issues that may arise.
Key Responsibilities:
Administration and Management:
• Oversee the daily operations of the hostel.
• Maintain accurate records of resident students, including check-in/check-out details.
• Allocate and monitor room assignments as per the hostel policy.
• Ensure proper upkeep and cleanliness of the premises in coordination with housekeeping staff.
Safety and Security:
• Enforce hostel rules and ensure discipline among residents.
• Maintain round-the-clock security in collaboration with security staff.
• Conduct routine checks of the premises to identify and mitigate safety risks.
• Act as a first point of contact in case of emergencies and coordinate with authorities as needed.
Resident Welfare:
• Address student grievances and resolve conflicts in a fair and empathetic manner.
• Foster a friendly and inclusive environment for residents from diverse backgrounds.
• Organize counseling sessions or provide guidance for personal, academic, or career-related issues.
• Monitor health and well-being, providing first aid when required and arranging medical assistance.
Reporting and Coordination:
• Report regularly to the administration about hostel operations, concerns, and resident behavior.
• Liaise with parents/guardians, as necessary, on matters related to the students.
• Coordinate with mess staff to ensure hygienic and timely meals for residents.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in any discipline (preferred: Psychology, Social Work, or Education).
• Experience: Prior experience in hostel management or a similar role is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.
• Proficient in basic computer applications for record-keeping.
• Leadership and conflict resolution skills.
