Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced IVF Lab Technician to join our fertility clinic. As an IVF Lab Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting embryologists and reproductive endocrinologists in the laboratory procedures necessary for assisted reproductive technologies (ART), including IVF, ICSI, and embryo culture. Your responsibilities will include handling and processing gametes (eggs and sperm), performing micromanipulation techniques, and ensuring the quality and integrity of laboratory procedures to maximize success rates for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare culture media and solutions required for embryo culture and micromanipulation procedures.
• Perform oocyte retrieval, sperm preparation, and embryo handling under sterile conditions.
• Assist in performing intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), embryo biopsy, and embryo cryopreservation procedures.
• Monitor and maintain the incubators, microscopes, and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning and calibration.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory procedures, patient samples, and experimental data.
• Adhere to quality control and quality assurance protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, CLIA).
• Collaborate with embryologists, fertility specialists, and nurses to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
• Participate in ongoing research projects and contribute to the development of new laboratory techniques and protocols.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Lab Technician in an IVF laboratory or reproductive biology setting.
• Proficiency in sterile techniques and handling of gametes and embryos.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent.
• Experience with advanced micromanipulation techniques (ICSI, embryo biopsy).
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for ART laboratories (e.g., CAP, ASRM guidelines).
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with patients and medical staff.
