Lab Technician
Job Description
Receives or obtains specimens for Laboratory analysis and does order entry if lab assistants are not present.
Labels bottles, containers, tubes, sample cups.
Performs various biochemicals, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Maintains departmental equipment and carries out the daily routine maintenance required as per the guidelines of each equipment
Records lab test results and may assist in research and technical activities
Transcribing materials, filing, and maintaining all pathology and clinical laboratory files
Prepares written documentation and files as required by the profession
Prints laboratory reports as required.
Prepare request forms and record of specimens to be sent to a reference laboratory.
Prints / prepares daily reports on workload details
Prepares and sends samples to reference laboratory for tests that are not performed in the Hospital.
