Ensure proper receiving, annotation, analysis of samples as per Standard Operating Procedure guidelines
Perform special tests procedures and to verify abnormal results as required.
Ensure that calibration of equipment is performed according to the set protocol
Formulate and standardize reagents & solutions required in the laboratory
Ensure that the critical reports are informed to the relevant personnel in a timely manner.
Keep track of inventory.
Up-date all documents
To inform proper personnel about inadequacies of samples
Ensure that TAT is maintained.
Out-sourcing of tests that are not performed in-house to appropriate laboratories and timely dispatch of reports.
Authenticate printed reports.
To carry out duties in other disciplines in periods of high workload, staff shortages and out-of-duty hours.
Maintain a high level of confidence in the test results.
Ensure optimal equipment utilization - by ensuring that all equipment\xe2\x80\x99s are operational and ready for use by other laboratory staff and sufficient supplies are available.
Ensure that samples are archived according to the guide-lines.
Ensure that samples are discarded according to the guidelines.
Ensure smooth functioning of the department.
