Job Description

We are hiring Lab Chemist plays a vital role in scientific and industrial settings, working with chemicals, reagents, and equipment to conduct experiments, analyze substances, and ensure product quality. They are responsible for carrying out a wide range of chemical analyses, developing new products or processes, and ensuring that laboratory activities comply with safety standards and regulations. Lab chemists can work in industries such as pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, environmental science, manufacturing, and research and development (R&D).

Key Responsibilities:-

1. Chemical Analysis and Testing

Conducting Experiments: Perform chemical experiments and analyses on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to ensure they meet the required specifications.

Test Development: Develop and validate testing methods for chemical products or processes. This may include using techniques like titration, chromatography, spectroscopy, and pH analysis.

Sample Collection and Preparation: Collect samples from various sources (e.g., production lines, raw material shipments) and prepare them for testing, following standard procedures.

Data Interpretation: Analyze the results of chemical tests, document findings, and prepare reports with clear interpretations of the data.

2. Quality Control and Assurance

Monitoring Product Quality: Ensure that products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards by analyzing them during different stages of production.

Compliance: Ensure that laboratory practices comply with internal quality control standards and external regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO, EPA).

Troubleshooting: Identify any deviations or anomalies in test results, investigate causes, and provide recommendations for corrective actions to improve product quality.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all tests, analyses, and experiments, ensuring that all findings are documented according to company and regulatory standards.

3. Laboratory Maintenance and Safety

Equipment Maintenance: Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working condition.

Chemicals Handling: Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and reagents, following best practices and safety protocols.

Lab Safety: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. This includes wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and conducting risk assessments.

Inventory Management: Manage chemical inventories and ensure the availability of reagents, solvents, and other lab supplies.

4. Research and Development (R&D)

Product Development: Assist in the development of new products or formulations by conducting experiments and formulating prototypes.

Process Optimization: Work on optimizing chemical processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, or enhance product quality.

Innovative Solutions: Collaborate with R&D teams to design and implement innovative solutions in product development or production processes.

5. Collaboration and Reporting

Cross-Department Communication: Work closely with other departments such as production, engineering, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs to ensure product integrity and process efficiency.

Reporting Results: Present and discuss analytical results with supervisors, scientists, or managers, providing recommendations or insights based on findings.

Client Interaction: In some cases, lab chemists may be required to interact with external clients or stakeholders to explain findings or provide technical support.
