: L2 Database Administrator - Microsoft SQL Server

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced L2 Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate will provide support for database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting while ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance of our database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring uptime and performance.
• Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and integrity checks.
• Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database configurations for performance.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide resolution in a timely manner.
• Implement and manage database security, including user roles and permissions.
• Support database deployment, migration, and upgrades.
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to resolve database-related challenges.
• Generate and analyse database performance reports.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration.
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Familiarity with SQL Server monitoring and performance tuning tools.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
• Understanding of database security principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

Exposure to cloud-based SQL databases (e.g., Azure SQL).

Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation.

Knowledge of SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
