Role: L2 Automation Engineer

Shift Timings: UK Shift (3PM \xe2\x80\x93 12 Midnight)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in release automation, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and DevOps practices. As a Release Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our release automation framework to streamline the software release process and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain release automation processes and tools, focusing on optimizing the software release cycle and minimizing downtime and errors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, quality assurance, and infrastructure, to define and automate the release process, ensuring efficient and reliable software deployments.
• Develop and maintain deployment scripts, templates, and automation workflows for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and release deployments.
• Configure and manage release automation tools and platforms, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools, to support continuous integration, deployment, and delivery.
• Implement and maintain automation frameworks, scripts, and tools to streamline operational tasks, improve efficiency, and enhance the reliability of our systems and infrastructure.
• Monitor and manage the release environments, ensuring their stability, scalability, and security, and implementing appropriate backup and recovery mechanisms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to release automation, infrastructure, and deployments, collaborating with relevant teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify performance bottlenecks, resource constraints, and security vulnerabilities in the release pipeline.
• Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in release automation, infrastructure management, and operations, and proactively recommend improvements to enhance the release automation function.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in release automation, infrastructure management, or a similar role within the software industry.
• Strong knowledge of release automation tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools, and their configuration and customization.
• Solid understanding of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) concepts and experience with tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation languages, such as Shell, Python, or PowerShell, for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and their native automation and infrastructure management services.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable, and secure release automation processes.
