WHAT YOU'LL DO

We are seeking a strong candidate to fill a Knowledge Expert (KE) team manager position within the Health Care Practice Area (HCPA) knowledge team who will focus on driving the proprietary assets (such as benchmarks and tools) strategy of the HCPA. The HCPA helps companies grasp the strategic implications of changes in the market environment and exploit them to build competitive advantage. A substantial portion of our work is with the world’s major pharmaceutical and biotech companies, but our clients also include institutions across the entire spectrum of the health care industry, including medical technologies, payers, and providers. The HCPA Knowledge Team is the dedicated knowledge arm of the HCPA and offers topic specific expertise, thought leadership and ownership on developing proprietary assets and solutions and insights generation to BCG teams and clients.

The ideal candidate is passionate about all different segments of the health care industry and has previous experience of conceptualizing and building proprietary assets and solutions. The role is part of HC KT Leadership team and would require the person to

• Collaborate with business leaders, expert consultants, and other knowledge colleagues in all global hubs to develop and deliver proprietary assets and solutions
• Drive commercialization strategy of the proprietary assets of the HCPA
• Lead and grow a team of knowledge professionals
• Contribute to growing the IP of the HCPA across key business priorities
• Lead and support global initiatives focused on driving the HCPA and KT strategies.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

The KE will be a trusted advisor and thought partner to the HCPA sector and topic leadership teams and KT topic teams to help conceptualize and build world class proprietary assets and solutions for HCPA clients and teams. The person will be efficient in applying health care expertise and data understanding to conceptualize, design and build proprietary assets and other topic and sector offering to further strengthen the IP of the HCPA. The individual should be highly capable framing, structuring, and synthesizing innovative client offerings. The candidate should be comfortable interacting with internal and external senior stakeholders while working in a global collaborative team environment. The candidate in expected to collaborate seamlessly in a hybrid model to ensure the best of BCG is brought to our clients. The individual will also be expected to be part of global strategic initiatives and is comfortable working across diverse teams. As one of the senior level individuals within the global HCPA KT team, the role includes team management of 5+ team members. Therefore, experience in leading teams is an important requirement.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

• 
  10+ years of industry experience which includes 5+ years in building proprietary assets and solutions
• Deep & recognized expertise in a topic/sector domain with strong external network
• Senior presence & can operate/influence effectively in a matrix organization
• 5+ years of well-developed people management skills & business acumen
• 5+ years Project management experience
  

YOU'LL WORK WITH

As a Knowledge Expert, you will collaborate with global topic leads and colleagues across BCG to bring expertise and capabilities to the service of our internal and external clients. You will be part of the HCPA KT Leadership team.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Knowledge Team (KT) is a group of functional and/or industry experts leveraging deep domain knowledge to enable insight for case teams and clients. KT members are affiliated to BCG Practice Areas, plugged into the strategic agenda and building and deploying leading edge IP data tools/assets to deliver insight. BCG's Knowledge Team members are staffed on cases and help co-create insights with case teams and clients through expert perspectives on industry trends, delivery of proprietary data or tools in a particular function and complex research and analysis of market information. KT members also support the PA’s business development and proposals and help to organize and codify the knowledge that enables BCG to deliver superior business value for its clients.
