As a Steward Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen and dining areas. You will be responsible for overseeing the stewarding team, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the proper handling of kitchen equipment and tableware. The Steward Supervisor is an integral part of the restaurant's hygiene and sanitation practices, contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests and a safe working environment for our staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• •Supervise Stewarding Team •: Lead, train, and motivate the stewarding team, ensuring they understand their duties and responsibilities in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
• •Dishwashing and Tableware Management •: Oversee the proper washing, sanitizing, and storage of kitchen equipment, tableware, glassware, and utensils to maintain a continuous supply for the culinary team and dining service.
• •Kitchen Equipment Maintenance •: Ensure the proper handling and cleaning of kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, grills, and fryers, to prolong their lifespan and maintain their functionality.
• •Cleaning and Sanitation •: Monitor and enforce strict cleanliness and sanitation standards in all kitchen and service areas, complying with health department regulations and best practices
• •Waste Management •: Oversee the proper disposal of waste and ensure recycling initiatives are implemented wherever possible to minimize the environmental impact.
• •Stock Management •: Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment needed for the stewarding department, ensuring adequate stock levels at all time
• •Safety Compliance •: Ensure that the stewarding team follows safety guidelines, including the safe handling of chemicals, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to safety protocols.
• •Collaboration with Other Departments •: Work closely with the culinary team, service staff, and management to ensure seamless operations and a hygienic dining environment.
• •Training and Development •: Conduct regular training sessions for the stewarding team on cleaning techniques, equipment handling, and safety procedures.
• •Performance Evaluation •: Monitor the performance of stewards, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to recognize outstanding contributions and address areas for improvement.
• •Problem Solving •: Identify and resolve any issues related to cleanliness, equipment malfunction, or stewarding operations to maintain efficient workflows.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Steward Supervisor or similar role in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations in the food service industry.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
