Job Summary:
The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, and other kitchen equipment using machine and manual cleaning methods. This role ensures that the kitchen and dining areas are clean, orderly, and safe. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Dishwashing:
• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Load and unload dishwashing machines, ensuring all items are cleaned thoroughly.
• Hand-wash items as necessary, particularly large pots and pans.
• Kitchen Cleaning:
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dishwashing area, and storage areas.
• Clean and sanitize countertops, sinks, floors, and kitchen equipment.
• Empty and clean trash containers regularly.
• Equipment Maintenance:
• Monitor and maintain dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment.
• Report any malfunctions or maintenance issues to the kitchen manager or supervisor promptly.
• Follow proper operating procedures for dishwashing and kitchen equipment.
• Sanitation and Safety:
• Adhere to health and safety standards, including proper handling and storage of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
• Follow all food safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a sanitary work environment.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Support Kitchen Staff:
• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
• Help with organizing and storing deliveries and supplies.
• Support other kitchen duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or chef.
• Inventory and Supplies:
• Monitor levels of dishwashing detergents, cleaning supplies, and other necessary items.
• Inform the kitchen manager or supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
