Kichen Assistant
Job Description
A kitchen assistant's job description includes food preparation, cleaning, and ensuring food safety and hygiene:
• Food preparation : Assisting chefs with food preparation, such as washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables, and preparing meat and fish
• Cleaning : Washing dishes, pans, ovens, and other equipment, and cleaning floors, walls, and work surfaces
• Food safety and hygiene : Following food safety and hygiene practices, such as observing cooking times and temperatures, and ensuring food is packed and stored properly
• Other duties : Unloading deliveries, organizing the storeroom, and restocking the cold room
• Health and safety : Observing health and safety policies, reporting accidents, and participating in hazard identification
• Personal hygiene : Maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and dressing appropriately
• Communication : Communicating effectively with other staff
