• Work alongside product owners, technical leads and customers to strategize 1-3-5 year plans for Kafka and similar messaging technologies.
• Produce and maintain product and platform architecture in line with the central architecture governance functions.
• Architect patterns that provide customers with robust deployment patterns meeting HSBC service levels tiers.
• Providing strong technical Kafka expertise and recommendations in assessing new software projects and initiatives.
• Advise technology teams how to use Kafka technology effectively providing technology solutions that solve business problems.
• Design, plan and deliver sustainable solutions based on Kafka and other event-driven technologies
• Perform high-level root-cause analysis for cases where there are service interruptions involving event-driven technologies.
• Change or Incidents have created a service interruption recovery and create preventive measures

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Messaging technologies \xe2\x80\x93 Apache Kafka, Confluent Kafka:
• Demonstrable hands-on production experience and a deep understanding of the Kafka architecture and internals of how it works. Specific understanding of architectural components: brokers, Zookeeper, producers/consumers, Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams
• Platform: Kubernetes, public clouds: AWS, GCP
• DevOps toolsets \xe2\x80\x93 GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins
• Automation \xe2\x80\x93 Ansible
• Monitoring \xe2\x80\x93 Any observability tools such as DataDog, Instana, New Relic, Grafana, AppDynamics
