Position Overview:
As a Junior Merchandiser, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the merchandising strategy to enhance sales, drive product availability, and create compelling product assortments that align with our brand's vision. This is a strategic, yet hands-on role that requires a balance of creativity and analytical expertise. You will work closely with Senior Merchandisers to forecast trends, manage inventory, and ensure timely and efficient product deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
o Merchandising Strategy & Planning:
o Support senior merchandisers to execute the strategy to align with business goals and brand positioning.
o Analyse market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to drive decisions around product assortment and product offerings.
o Product Assortment & Selection:
o Curate a product assortment that reflects the company's brand values while meeting customer expectations and market demands.
o Oversee the creation of seasonal collections, ensuring each collection aligns with market trends and consumer needs.
o Inventory & Stock Management:
o Assist senior merchandiser with ensure optimal inventory levels across all retail channels to minimize stockouts while avoiding overstock situations.
o Work closely with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure product availability and efficient distribution.
o Use data-driven insights to optimize stock turnover rates and adjust inventory strategies as necessary.
o Sales Performance & Data Analysis:
o Assess the performance of existing products and adjust strategies to improve sales performance and inventory turnover.
Qualifications:
o Education:
o Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field.
o Additional certifications in supply chain or retail management are a plus.
o Experience:
o 3+ years of experience in merchandising , with a proven track record in driving product sales and managing successful assortments, preferably in the home and lifestyle industry.
o Experience in managing large product portfolios and developing strategies for both physical and digital channels.
o Skills & Competencies:
o Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer insights to make informed decisions.
o Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and mentor a team.
o Creative mindset with a keen eye for design, trends, and consumer behavior.
o Solid understanding of inventory management, supply chain processes, and retail operations.
o Proficiency in Excel. Experience in Merchandising software, and other analytical tools is a plus.
o Personal Attributes:
o Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
o Detail-oriented with a focus on both big-picture strategy and operational execution.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple projects and priorities.
