Key Responsibilities:
The Junior Estimator is responsible for analyzing project requirements, preparing detailed cost estimates. This role involves collaborating with various departments to gather necessary information, utilizing estimation software and tools, and ensuring that proposals are accurate, competitive, and aligned with the organization's goals.
• Project Analysis: Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to understand project scope. Conduct site visits, if necessary, to assess project conditions and requirements.
• Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead. Utilize estimation software and historical data to enhance the accuracy of estimates.
• Proposal Development: Develop comprehensive proposals outlining project scope, objectives, methodology, and timelines.
• Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit bids to clients within specified deadlines
• Competitive Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to determine pricing strategies. Evaluate competitor proposals and pricing to ensure competitiveness and differentiation.
• Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their needs and address queries related to the proposal.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of estimates, proposals, and relevant documentation. Generate reports on estimation and proposal activities, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to estimation and proposal engineering. Contribute to process improvements and the development of standardized estimation methodologies within the organization.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• 3 to 5 years of experience in estimation and proposal engineering, preferably in the relevant industry
• Proficiency in estimation software and tools
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Excellent communication skill
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
