We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial records. Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Assist with processing invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payments.
Monitor accounts receivable, assist with follow-ups on overdue payments, and ensure accurate recording of receipts.
General Ledger Maintenance:
Assist in maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.
Prepare and post journal entries for monthly and year-end close.
Financial Reporting:
Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Assist in preparing reports for management and auditors.
Bank Reconciliations:
Perform monthly bank and cash account reconciliations.
Ensure all discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
Tax Support:
Assist with the preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Maintain accurate records for VAT/GST, sales tax, or other relevant taxes as applicable.
Expense Management:
Review and verify employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Administrative Support:
Maintain accounting files and records in an organized manner.
Provide support during audits by preparing requested documentation.
Continuous Improvement:
Assist with process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
Stay updated on accounting best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience:
1-2 years of accounting experience (internships or entry-level roles may be considered).
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) is preferred.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good understanding of accounting principles.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office tools.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external vendors.
Preferred:
Knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS).
Certification or pursuing certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
