A graphic designer is a professional who uses their artistic abilities to help communicate ideas visually for their company and clients. It is the role of a graphic designer to use colors, text, images, and symbols to assist with their companys design process and make communications easier to understand for all audiences. Skills
- Study design briefs and determine requirements
- Create designs using illustration, photo editing and layout software
- Select colours, images, typography and layout for communication materials, including websites, logos, signs, books, magazine covers, annual reports, advertisements, and socialmedia posts
- Decide how images and text work to fit a specific layout and size.
- Collaborate with copywriters for text design and creation
- Create infographics that make complex ideas more accessible
- Testing graphics across various media
- Ensuring final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
- Review final graphic designs for errors before publishing
- Keep up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies
- Design pages for print and digital so that information is easy to find, read, and understand.
- Gather all relevant facts for each project and ensure that all deliverables communicate the correct information.
- Find innovative ways to redefine a design brief within time and cost constraints
- Estimate the time required to complete a job and provide quotes for clients
- Generate clear ideas, concepts, and designs of creative assets from beginning to end.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes marketers, creative directors, and product managers in order to create compelling designs.
- Proofread to produce accurate and high-quality work.
- Present finalized ideas and concepts to clients or managers.
