About the role:

The Publishing Operations team is responsible for the implementation of operational changes and support across Wiley's portfolio of journals. This team performs operational tasks at scale, such as process and workflow change updates, editorial data management, operational change tracking, transition implementation and tracking, and other supporting activities. Within the team, the Journal Operations Coordinator supports the administration of such operational tasks at scale for large projects and strategic implementations as well as BAU tasks supporting the optimization of the portfolio.


The main goal of the role is to ensure all inbound inquiries are dealt with accurately and completely. Support tickets may be raised by both internal and external 'customers'; however, most will come from internal colleagues. You will be responsible for either correctly routing the inquiry to internal departments or providing a direct response in accordance with SLAs. When responding directly, you will reference our best practices to ensure accurate and consistent information is provided. Being able to quickly assess the nature of the ticket, including its urgency and importance is a key skill. To assist in this task, you will develop a broad understanding of Wiley's policy. The Journal Operations Coordinator role is critical in the operational management of the Research business. The Journal Operations Coordinator can work effectively across regional and team boundaries and facilitates centralized efforts to maintain product-level data and standardization of workflows. The Journal Operations Coordinator reports to a Senior Manager within the Publishing Operations team, who has direct responsibility for decisions on the projects taken on by the Coordinator as well as the strategic direction of the team.



How you will make an impact:

• Swiftly process operational requests in accordance with defined best practices.
• Perform downstream activities, such as updates to journal homepages and editorial contact data, as needed to centralize operational functions across the portfolio.
• Coordinate updates of title-level data in central management information systems.
• Observe, review, and analyze processes to identify inefficiencies and areas where improvements could be made.
• Assist in efforts to implement programs across the Research business at scale that enhance our journal portfolios and reduce time and costs for the business.
Assist with reporting needs at team and project levels. Will provide administrative support in any data audits as required.


What we are looking for:

• Are detail-focused and a quick and enthusiastic learner.
• Have an interest in working in ticketing applications, namely Salesforce CRM.
• Have experience working within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision.
• Have an interest in journal publishing administration and operations.
• Are highly collaborative with good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Are a team player, someone who is personable and able to form relationships.
• Have experience using standard office systems, including Microsoft 360.
Have excellent English language skills (spoken, written, and reading). Ability to communicate clearly to different audiences.
