Strategic initiatives & decision making for enhancing the product value realisation

Market intelligence for new grades of Products, their properties, loading transportation and discharging facilities to ensure Nayara is always ahead in terms of adding value under change in the post COVID environment.

• Scanning global product market on a continuous basis & advise product oil traders on grades of products which Nayara can focus on to produce.
• Providing the best operational inputs in making up of product sales contract to the Traders.
• Keep management advised on development of new policies like blended fuel (Ethanol etc.) and their implementation from entire logistics point of view.
• Acquiring and facilitating operational expertise in handling different product grades.
• Striking right balance for laycan allocation between term & spot barrels to ensure timely availability of product grade as per pre-pay agreements & alternatives to meet any exigencies.


Efficient planning and execution of Jetty schedule ensuring timely evacuation of products with minimum demurrage implication • The primary focus to be on timely evacuation of products ensuring no compromise on planned throughput run.
• Punctual delivery of products to contracted Buyers and uninterrupted feed to our Retail locations.
• Focus on ensuring minimum demurrage implications.
• Providing timely downtime to terminal as and when desired for maintenance.
Ensure due coordination with and by the refinery, terminal, agents and surveyors in berthing of vessels.



Time charter fleet optimisation as the fleet now grows to 3-4 ships on the coast

Considerable responsibility at JGM level. From managing 1-2 ships to managing an entire growing fleet is a major challenge.

• Smooth interface between vessel Owners and Marketing team in efficiently operating the time charter vessels.
• Proactive planning and making decisions in ensuring maximum utilisation of the vessels avoiding idling.
• In conjunction with chartering team ensure out-chartering activities as a continuous function for value addition and optimisation
• Conducting a thorough time charter performance analysis periodically
Competitive and timely Bunker supply planning



Execution of Product sales Contracts & PSU MOU's

• In conjunction with Scheduling requirements ensure co-ordination between Trading, Finance, Marine and Marketing for flawless implementation of contracts.
• Developing cordial relations with the Buyers and capitalising the same as and when required for a win-win situation for both.

Innovation & Special Projects

(New tasks at JGM level to be part of KPI and to be linked with Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao's KPI)

• Prepare a plan for berthing of smaller size vessels. Provide recommendations for handling the issue of less parallel body length ships in order to service our domestic requirement (Budge Budge) in conjunction with chartering & VOTL
Research & industry wide analysis for evaluating installation of product custody transfer meter at refinery premises. Report to be published upon detailed consultation with refinery, finance, OEM (original equipment manufacturers).



System processes & control

(In line with Nayara's emphasis on processes and compliance)

• Develop automation in conjunction with IT Dept. for a smooth process flow of day to day operational activity.
• Integration across the functions to enhance accuracy and control for activities like demurrage & other ancillary payments.
• Processes to be automated as per SOP & DOA and ensure efficacy through SAP module wherever possible.
• Periodic Review in conjunction with IT Dept. for migration from old trade capture system to new one. Removal of bugs & bottlenecks for smooth operation of systems.

Coordinate and ensure Infrastructure, Terminal and related Facilities management & development in line with future expansion plans to eliminate any gap between design, planning and usage at a later stage

New action area as JGM to be made part of KPI and reflect in Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao's KPI as well.

• Ensure that Jetties provide adequate facilities as per International standards. Coordinate with VOTL.
• Ensure that the tanks, lines and other product facilities at the PIT / Refinery are in line with despatch of intended product. Coordinate with Refinery Technical services.
• Work out slots for periodical shutdown of marine units ensuring minimal outage of facilities.
• Keep a track of facilities available at other sites / terminals to facilitate growth and development.
• Comparison of VOTL facilities with various other terminals for effective product evacuation & despatch.
• Ensure the best turnaround of vessels with minimal demurrage and maximum utilization
