Job Description

A "jewellery logistics executive" is responsible for managing the entire logistical process of transporting and storing valuable jewelry, ensuring timely delivery to customers while maintaining high security standards, coordinating with suppliers and carriers, and closely monitoring inventory levels to prevent loss or damage, all while adhering to specific regulations within the jewelry industry. Key responsibilities may include:

Inventory Management:

Accurately tracking jewelry inventory across all stages of the supply chain, including receiving, storage, and shipping. Performing regular stock checks to identify discrepancies and address potential issues. Managing stock levels to optimize inventory turnover and prevent overstocking.

Order Processing and Fulfillment:

Receiving customer orders and coordinating with the sales team to ensure accurate order details. Processing orders efficiently, including packaging and labeling jewelry according to security protocols. Arranging secure transportation for jewelry shipments, including selecting appropriate carriers and coordinating pick-up and delivery schedules.

Logistics Coordination:

Negotiating and maintaining relationships with shipping carriers to secure competitive rates and reliable services. Monitoring shipment tracking to ensure timely delivery and address any potential delays. Coordinating with customs brokers for international shipments, ensuring compliance with import/export regulations.

Security Measures:

Implementing strict security procedures for handling and storing valuable jewelry, including utilizing specialized packaging and secure storage facilities. Maintaining detailed documentation of all jewelry movements to enhance traceability. Ensuring all staff involved in jewelry handling are properly trained in security protocols.

Compliance and Reporting:

Staying updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements related to jewelry transportation and storage. Generating reports on inventory levels, shipping metrics, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Strong understanding of logistics principles and supply chain management. Experience in the jewelry industry, including knowledge of precious metals and gemstones. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in handling valuable items. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in inventory management systems and logistics software.
