As a jewellery designer, you\'ll have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in the field, gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge design tools and techniques, and contribute to real-world projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Skills: Utilize CAD software such as Rhino 3D, Matrix, AutoCAD or SolidWorks to translate conceptual jewelry designs into digital models. Proficiency in CAD allows you to create detailed 3D renderings of jewelry pieces, incorporating intricate details and precise measurements.
- CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) Knowledge: Apply CAM principles to prepare digital models for production. This involves understanding manufacturing processes such as CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining, 3D printing, and laser cutting. You\'ll need to optimize designs for specific manufacturing methods, considering factors like material compatibility and production efficiency.
- Material Selection and Analysis: Assist in selecting appropriate materials for jewelry manufacturing, considering factors such as durability, aesthetics, and cost-effectiveness. Conduct material analysis to evaluate properties like strength, flexibility, and texture, informing design decisions and optimizing production processes.
- Quality Control and Testing: Participate in quality control procedures to ensure that manufactured jewelry pieces meet design specifications and industry standards. Conduct testing and evaluation of prototypes to identify potential issues and implement necessary refinements before mass production.
- Research and Development: Stay updated on advancements in CAM technology, materials science, and jewelry design trends. Engage in ongoing research and development activities to explore innovative techniques, improve design methodologies, and enhance the overall quality of jewelry products.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of design iterations, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance procedures. Prepare reports and presentations summarizing project progress, key findings, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
