Job Description

A JCB operator, also known as a backhoe-loader operator, operates heavy machinery to perform tasks on construction sites. They are responsible for operating the equipment safely and efficiently, and for maintaining it properly.Responsibilities

• Operate JCB equipment for digging, loading, backfilling, trenching, and more
• Ensure equipment is safe and functioning properly
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines

• Communicate with supervisors and team members

• Inspect work sites and equipment for hazards

• Complete paperwork and documentation

• Continuously improve skills and knowledge

Qualifications and skills

• Diploma or other qualification in mechanical or related field

• Experience operating heavy equipment

• Ability to read and interpret site plans and construction drawings

• Ability to coordinate with other crew members

• Ability to adjust mechanisms and control equipment using levers, foot pedals, joysticks, and operating switches
