JD - IT System Administrator

focuses on overseeing the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring its smooth operation, and supporting its technological needs. This role is essential for maintaining the systems, networks, and technology that help streamline manufacturing processes and operations within the company.

Job Purpose:

The IT System Administrator in a Rice Mill Manufacturing Company is responsible for the installation, configuration, and management of IT systems that support the company's daily operations. This includes managing hardware, software, network systems, data backups, cybersecurity measures, and troubleshooting IT issues within the manufacturing and office environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Management :
• Install, configure, and maintain server systems (Windows/Linux-based) and network infrastructure.
• Monitor and ensure the smooth operation of the company's IT systems, including production-related software and databases.
• Maintain and upgrade IT infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of the rice milling operations.
• Ensure integration between various systems used in the production line (ERP, inventory, and other manufacturing software).
• Network Management :
• Manage internal network systems to ensure reliable communication between devices in the office and manufacturing areas.
• Troubleshoot network issues and perform network optimizations.
• Ensure network security and limit unauthorized access through firewalls, VPNs, and other tools.
• Software Support & Configuration :
• Manage and support the software applications used in the rice mill manufacturing, including ERP, SCM (Supply Chain Management), and production control systems.
• Ensure software updates, patches, and version upgrades are implemented in a timely manner.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues related to the mill's production systems and other business applications.
• Cybersecurity :
• Implement and manage cybersecurity measures to protect the company's IT systems from potential threats (viruses, malware, phishing, etc.).
• Perform regular security audits and assessments.
• Educate employees about cybersecurity best practices and policies.
• Data Backup and Disaster Recovery :
• Set up and manage backup solutions for critical company data (production data, financial data, etc.).
• Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure quick recovery in the event of system failures or data loss.
• Monitor the backup systems to ensure reliability.
• User Support :
• Provide technical support for end-users (staff in office, warehouse, and mill floors).
• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues for users.
• Assist in setting up and configuring new workstations, devices, and peripherals.
• Compliance and Reporting :
• Ensure that all IT systems comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
• Prepare regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and other relevant metrics.
• Collaboration and Documentation :
• Work closely with production and operations teams to ensure IT systems are aligned with business needs.
• Document all system configurations, processes, and issues.
• Assist in planning and implementing new IT projects for improving operational efficiency in the rice milling processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education :
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, BTech - ECE or a related field.
• IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, or similar) are a plus.
• Experience :
• At least 3-5 years of experience as an IT System Administrator or in a similar role.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in a food processing or rice milling company) is highly beneficial.
• Technical Skills :
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, etc.) and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with ERP systems, especially those relevant to manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Proficient in server management, network troubleshooting, and data backup solutions.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, and cybersecurity tools.
• Familiarity with hardware systems and components used in manufacturing.
• Soft Skills :
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proactive attitude towards system upgrades, issues, and security.
• Additional Skills :
• Knowledge of IT support for industrial systems (e.g., IoT integration, SCADA systems, or PLC-based control systems) is a plus.
• Familiarity with databases and data analytics tools used in manufacturing and production.

Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?25,000.00 per month
