This position will be responsible to provide effective IT end user support across all divisions of the Herman Miller business located in Bangalore with primary location of work being at our offices near Cunningham Road. The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the IT Infrastructure, Network, user accounts and access control as well as Internet connectivity and Application services plus general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software. The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities. Key Responsibilities Include: Attend to IT requests at site within agreed response and resolution times. Diagnose and resolve technical issues. Escalate IT issues to the IT Infrastructure Lead if not able to resolve. Responsible for managing local backups and tape rotation. Undertake small to medium-sized IT projects as instructed by the IT Infrastructure Lead Provide desktop support to end users. Work with remote L2 and L3 support staff to carry out instructions on site. Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops. Install authorised software / OS image to laptops and desktops. Ensuring security and updates are applied and kept up to date on desktops and laptops. Antivirus installation to all desktops and laptops. Fault-finding and resolution of all laptop and desktop problems. Completing internal user moves including phones. Patching of network and phones. Escalation of any possible threats and problems to assets, processes, and technology to IT team. Receiving and forwarding IT procurement requests to Infrastructure Lead for approval. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and the same is enforced across the floor. Attend weekly, monthly and adhoc IT and generic team meetings as necessary. Technical Skills Mandatory: A minimum of 4-7 years of experience as Support Engineer L1 with Software and Hardware knowledge. Experience with any ticketing solution like ServiceNow / JIRA Strong exposure to end user support with user access, application support and generic networking knowledge Good knowledge on creating and deploying Laptop & Desktop Images Familiar with Windows operating system and able to manage printers and related peripherals. Basic knowledge of Active Directory. Familiar with AV / VC equipment and can configure and connect it to the enterprise Network. Remote customer / user support experience using technology tools. Experience working with Microsoft Office365 Ideal candidate A diploma/graduate in computer science / technology or equivalent. Having excellent interpersonal and English communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to work individually or within a team environment. Willing to work at our manufacturing facility in Bidadi on rotational basis or as required. Ability to take direction, constructive criticism, and work to specified deadlines. Adhere to process and procedures defined for the role, the team, and the organization. Be willing to work at different locations of Herman Miller within Bangalore on rotation basis as required.
