What you will learn and contribute to As an Enterprise IT Subject Metter Expert for Storage, you play a critical role in managing and optimizing an organization\'s storage infrastructure. This role requires a broad skill set to ensure the availability, performance, and security of complex storage solutions. As well as this multifaceted role requires deep technical expertise and the ability to provide guidance and leadership in areas of storage technologies, including DAS, SAN, NAS, CAS, Object Storage, Backup/Restore, and Long-Term Retention (LTR).
Main Responsibility Areas
Deep knowledge of diverse storage technologies, including DAS, SAN, NAS (with expertise in Dell EMC VMAX Storage Service, NetApp, and Qumulo, or equivalent), CAS, Object Storage, and Backup/Restore solutions.
Familiarity with storage protocols such as NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel.
Proficiency in managing storage hardware, including storage arrays, disk drives, and tape libraries.
Experience with RAID configurations and disk management.
Knowledge of data replication technologies for disaster recovery.
Implementation and management of backup and recovery solutions.
Understanding of storage virtualization technologies like Software-Defined Storage (SDS) and virtual storage appliances (VSAs).
Proficiency in storage management tools and platforms such as EMC VMAX, NetApp ONTAP, and Dell EMC Unity.
Capacity Planning: Monitor and forecast storage capacity needs to support the organization\'s data growth.
Security and Compliance:
Implement security measures and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
Performance Optimization:
Monitor and optimize storage to meet organizational demands.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage performance issues.
Disaster Recovery and Backup Strategies:
Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans for storage systems.
Implement backup and recovery strategies, including Long-Term Retention (LTR), to safeguard data.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including storage administrators, system administrators, service and application owners, to ensure seamless system operation.
Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with storage vendors, including support, upgrades, and procurement.
Project Management:
Lead or contribute to projects related to storage solutions, including project planning, execution, and budget management.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of storage configurations, policies, and procedures.
Working experience
Implementation of storage processes, with proven experience in complex process management
Storage and risk Management
Storage governance
Articulate storage findings to a variety of stakeholders, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Incident management and response, escalation of storage incidents.
High understanding of IT infrastructure and policies, including access management, user authentication.
Attended meetings with storage teams, to identify opportunities to enhance storage measures.

Knowledge of IT infrastructure, storage architecture concepts and principles

10+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise-level storage management (DAS, SAN, NAS, CAS, Object Storage) Relevant certifications in storage technologies administration (e.g., Dell EMC, NetApp, Qumulo or equivalent Proven Professional, e.g., Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) certifications, vendor-specific certifications like NetApp NCDA or EMC Specialist.
Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate storage-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences at various hierarchical levels.
Strong problem and analytical skills, the ability to manage complex projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives.
