Job Description

System Maintenance and Monitoring:

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance and ensure the availability and reliability of hardware and software.
• Apply patches and updates to systems and applications to ensure security and functionality.

Network Management:

• Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure network security by implementing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security measures.

User Support:

• Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Conduct training sessions for staff on new systems and software.

Security Management:

• Implement and manage security policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Monitor for security breaches and respond to incidents.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Data Management:

• Ensure regular backups of all critical data and manage data recovery processes.
• Implement data storage solutions and manage data integrity and availability.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Generate reports on system performance, security incidents, and other relevant metrics.
• Keep records of hardware and software inventory.

Additional Responsibilities:

Project Management:

• Plan and execute IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Budget Management:

• Assist in the development and management of the IT budget.
• Make recommendations for hardware and software purchases based on organizational needs.

Vendor Management:

• Work with third-party vendors to procure IT equipment and services.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

Policy Development:

• Develop and implement IT policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Innovation and Improvement:

• Stay updated with the latest technology trends and advancements.
• Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT operations.

Soft Skills:

• Communication:
• Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with various departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions.
• Problem-Solving:
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Develop innovative solutions to improve system performance and reliability.

• Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to handle multiple responsibilities.
• Attention to Detail:
• Ensure accuracy in system configurations, documentation, and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)).
• Experience in IT support, network administration, or a similar role.
