Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced IT Administrator to join our team and oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, servers, networks, and IT infrastructure. As an IT Administrator, you will ensure the company's systems are secure, efficient, and up-to-date while providing support to employees for IT-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• System & Network Management:
• Configure, install, and maintain company hardware, software, and network systems.
• Manage and monitor local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and cloud-based systems.
• Ensure network security by setting up firewalls, VPNs, and ensuring encryption of sensitive data.
• Troubleshoot network issues and ensure high uptime of critical systems.
• Server Administration:
• Install, configure, and manage servers (Windows, Linux, macOS).
• Monitor server performance and troubleshoot any issues.
• Perform regular updates, backups, and patch management.
• Administer user accounts and permissions (Active Directory, LDAP).
• Security Management:
• Implement and enforce company security policies, including access control and authentication.
• Ensure security of company data, systems, and networks by implementing security measures and monitoring for security threats.
• Manage antivirus solutions and perform regular security audits.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery:
• Ensure data integrity by managing backups of critical systems and files.
• Design and test disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in case of a system failure.
• End-User Support:
• Provide support for end-users on IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network connectivity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems for employees in a timely manner.
• Create and maintain documentation for common IT issues and solutions for staff.
• Software & Hardware Installation:
• Install and configure software, applications, and updates.
• Provide support for internal software tools and systems, ensuring compatibility with other technologies.
• Manage inventory of hardware and software licenses.
• Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
• Continuously monitor system performance and optimize resources.
• Generate reports on system performance, uptime, and potential issues to IT management.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with other departments to understand IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, such as software upgrades or network migrations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Background:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified, Cisco Certified Network Associate) are highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
• Expertise in server management, system administration, and network troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience with database administration (SQL, MySQL, etc.) and backup tools.
• Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
• Full-time position.
• Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required for system maintenance or emergency support.
• Office-based with the possibility of remote work, depending on company policy.
Salary Range:
Competitive salary based on experience.
