JOB DESCRIPTION RESPONSIBILITIES The system engineer in Technical Support under Industrial Software COE will: Connect with customers to understand their need and determine how help can be provided to enable them to utilize industrial software from Emerson and achieve their goals Handle customer technical support cases through phone, email, chat and other communication media Update Emerson support website with technical tips and brief documentation Evaluate software lifecycle management potential through assessment of compatibility of new programs with existing programs Help in continually improving Emerson software through review against objectives and specifications, creating improvement requests and reviewing proposed changes. Maintaining system functionality by testing computer components Achieve Software Lifecycle Management objectives by collecting relevant data, identifying and evaluating possible actions, and suggesting a course of action Deliver infrastructure design and engineering service projects using Industrial software with 3rd party applications Install and configure Industrial software solutions on DeltaV and other third party platforms Visit customer facility as necessary to assist with Software install and troubleshooting. Provide technical direction and support for Industrial Software within Cloud-Hosted offerings Collaborate with team members to improve processes and documentation related to software technology testing and deployment Actively contribute towards improvement of the technical support function from Indusrial Software CoE Coach and develop other system engineer skills Report progress and issues to designated supervisors on a regular basis Will be required to work in rotating shifts
