Ensure compliance with CMS and payer guidelines
Work closely with physicians for documentation improvement
Assist in denial management and appeal processes
Preferred candidate profile
Strong knowledge of
ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS
coding guidelines
Proficiency in
MS-DRG, APCs, and revenue cycle processes
Experience in coding for
inpatient, outpatient, emergency department (ED), and surgery
Ability to audit and validate coded records for compliance
Certification:
CPC, CCS
(AHIMA or AAPC)
Experience:
2-5 years in acute care coding
