Job Title: Inventory Associate

Job Overview:

As an Inventory Associate, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory records, tracking stock levels, and ensuring efficient stock management. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular audits, reconciling discrepancies, and collaborating with other departments to optimize inventory processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management:

- Conduct regular physical counts of merchandise and supplies.

- Update inventory records using manual or computerized systems.

- Monitor stock levels and reorder products as needed to prevent stockouts.

2. Auditing and Reconciliation:

- Perform routine audits to verify the accuracy of inventory records.

- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records.

- Implement corrective actions to address root causes of inventory discrepancies.

3. Collaboration:

- Coordinate with purchasing, receiving, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless inventory operations.

- Communicate effectively with team members to address inventory-related issues promptly.

- Provide information on stock availability and shortages to relevant departments.

4. Data Entry and Documentation:

- Input data accurately into inventory management systems.

- Maintain detailed and organized records of inventory transactions.

- Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and other relevant metrics.

5. Quality Control:

- Inspect and report on the quality of incoming products.

- Identify and quarantine any items that do not meet quality standards.

- Collaborate with quality control teams to address and resolve issues.

6. Efficiency Improvement:

- Propose and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of inventory management.

- Optimize stock placement for easy retrieval and space utilization.

7. Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to inventory management.

- Stay informed about industry best practices and recommend improvements to current practices.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Previous experience in inventory management or a related field is preferred.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

- Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

This role may involve lifting, carrying, and moving inventory items. The ability to lift and move moderately heavy objects is required.

Working Conditions:

The position may require occasional overtime during peak inventory periods.
