The Inventory Assistant is responsible for managing inventory records, ensuring the accuracy of stock levels, and supporting the inventory team in the efficient storage, movement, and tracking of goods. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining operational efficiency by minimizing inventory discrepancies and ensuring proper documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inventory Management:
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records in the system.
• Perform regular stock counts and reconciliations to identify discrepancies.
• Update stock levels in real-time and ensure proper labeling of inventory items.
• Data Entry and Documentation:
• Record incoming and outgoing shipments accurately.
• Prepare inventory reports, including stock levels, shrinkage, and movement trends.
• Maintain proper documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
• Stock Monitoring:
• Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Notify the inventory manager of low stock levels or discrepancies.
• Ensure proper rotation of goods to minimize waste (FIFO/LIFO methods).
• Collaboration:
• Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to track incoming shipments.
• Assist the operations team in inventory-related queries.
• Support inventory audits conducted by internal or external stakeholders.
• Operational Support:
• Assist in organizing the storage area for easy accessibility and safety.
• Handle physical inventory tasks like counting, stacking, and moving items.
• Support the implementation of inventory management software or tools.
